Well-Being Programs for Stress Relief

Published April 5, 2021

If you’ve felt overwhelmed in the past year you aren’t alone. The American Psychological Association (APA) stated that 84% of adults in America have recently reported feeling more emotions related to stress. As we begin Quarter 4 of the Good For You! Well-Being Program and American Stress Awareness Month, we encourage you to keep mental health in mind and explore available activities to help you grow, renew, flourish, and thrive all season.

Grow with Health Coaching (earn up to $600):

Sometimes the things we’re passionate about can also cause stress. Maybe you set an exercise goal but are having trouble meeting it or planned to decrease your sugar intake but are struggling to follow through. We all need a little extra support sometimes to help us stay positive and motivated. Whether you’re interested in transforming your routine or overcoming a health challenge, Online and Telephonic coaching programs can help you stay on the right track, and grow one step at a time.

Renew your Routine with Omada (earn up to $350):

Omada is a digital lifestyle change program for those who may be at risk of type 2 diabetes, hypertension, or high cholesterol. Studies show that chronic stress can negatively impact on the immune system, potentially affecting physical health. Renewing your day-to-day health routine and developing personalized steps, might be just what you need to help build up your mental and physical health. See if you’re eligible for Omada. Complete 16 weeks and/or meet a weight loss goal of 5% to earn incentives. Available to those on SchoolCare/Cigna Medical plans who have not previously participated in Omada.

Flourish through Healthy Events (Earn up to $75):

A large part of well-being is finding stress-reducing activities that fit your needs. If you participate in a stress management activity you enjoy, get rewarded for self-reporting it in your myCigna account. This can include:

  • Financial planning seminars

  • EAP seminars/webcasts

  • Retirement planning seminars

  • Outdoor activities (camping, hiking, etc.)

  • Mindfulness activities (therapy, meditation, journaling)

  • And more!

Practicing stress management in daily, weekly, or monthly activities is a great way to let your mind and body flourish.

Thrive with Apps & Activities (Earn up to $400):

Stress is often unavoidable. However, exercise can be a wonderful way to manage stressful thoughts. As the weather warms you might find there are more opportunities to get outside and stay active. From gardening to taking a bike ride, you can create monthly challenges for many wellness goals with Apps & Activities at myCigna. Click here for a tutorial on how to create a walking activity.

NOTE: Cash incentives, payments, and rewards are available upon completion of the Health Assessment annually. Amounts paid to wellness program participants are taxable income. Please review with your tax consultant for more information.
