Preventive Care & PCPs – Get the Plan Year Off to a Healthy Start

The start of school year serves as a great reminder to line up preventive services with your primary care physician (PCP). Start off the year on a healthy track by taking the time now to focus on you and your family’s well-being.

Make an appointment with your PCP

If you haven’t been in touch with your PCP in a while, now is a good time to get your annual physical scheduled. An on-going relationship with your PCP is important to maintaining and supporting the health goals on your path to overall well-being.

Your PCP helps coordinate important medical services like routine screenings and immunizations and provides medical advice and specialist referrals when needed. Preventive services can help detect new health concerns, while maintaining a healthy lifestyle can help prevent or reverse some chronic diseases or conditions. Further:

  • Your preventive services with an in-network PCP are 100% covered by your SchoolCare medical plan.
  • Your claim for an annual physical qualifies you for a Good For You! Well-Being Program $75 incentive, which will be reflected in your account beginning in January. (SchoolCare 65+ Retirees must self-report completion in your myCigna account beginning in January).
  • Your gender- and age-specific preventive cancer screenings and annual flu shot are also 100% covered and qualify for incentives (up to 4 preventive incentives total per plan year).
